I entered the field of aesthetics after struggling with the kind of acne that made me feel like I'd never be able to go out makeup-free.
As a College of Charleston graduate working my first business job and still breaking out uncontrollably, I began receiving aesthetic treatments and noticed how differently my visit schedule, home care, and follow-ups were conducted in comparison with dermatology offices I'd been to in the past.
My skin cleared at around month 4 of this style of intervention, and I was able to spend the rest of my year in that town working on pigment and scarring.
Once in New Orleans, I trained and received my license as an Aesthetician in 2008 and immediately started taking advanced aesthetic training opportunities with giants in the field, including the late Dr. James E. Fulton. As I accrued treatment technologies and grew a solo practice and later a large spa in New Orleans, I concurrently pursued UCLA's Extension program in Cosmetic Chemistry and grew my solo practice into a full day spa on Magazine Street, where my formulating efforts began to take shape.
Moving back to Atlanta in 2015, I further refined my treatment and formulation offerings, and opened Spa Aeon in 2017 in Emory Village where I practice today addressing the rejuvenation concerns of past and current acne and sensitive skinned individuals, continuing to evaluate new technologies and include what I find that best optimizes the health and beauty of the skin I treat.
Now, in my 18th year of practice, my own acne struggles largely behind me, my heart still goes out to women and girls who feel constrained by the condition of their skin and how it affects their presentation to the world.
